New system handles registration and scheduling, organizes musical works, centralizes information, and streamlines communication between the festival team and participants.
On Wednesday morning (8), the official launch of the new system for the Santa Catarina International Music Festival (FEMUSC) took place at SCAR. The platform was custom-developed for FEMUSC by Adapcon—a company based in Jaraguá—to modernize and integrate management processes for Latin America’s largest classical music festival-school.
The new tool features a completely redesigned, more intuitive, and functional interface that goes far beyond the registration process. The system will allow for the organization of student and faculty schedules, repertoire management, activity tracking, information centralization, and streamlined communication between the organizing team and participants, offering greater efficiency throughout every stage of the festival.
Registration for the 22nd edition of FEMUSC opens this Friday (10) and will utilize the new platform.
Mariana Werninghaus de Carvalho, President of the FEMUSC Board, highlights that the new platform is the result of a collaborative process between the festival team and Adapcon.
“Seeing the system ready brings great joy, but what moved me most was witnessing the journey to make it a reality. There were many conversations, active listening, exchanges of ideas, and a genuine collaborative effort. The Adapcon team embraced this challenge, understanding that FEMUSC is much more than just a festival. You grasped our purpose and turned that understanding into a tool that will directly impact the experience of students, faculty, and festival staff.”
For FEMUSC’s artistic director and conductor, Alex Klein, the new system represents a significant structural shift for the festival’s future.
“Over the years, the previous system underwent various adaptations and minor improvements until it became extremely complex. It reached a point where few people understood its entire structure. Now, that knowledge has been reorganized, documented, and transformed into a modern, attractive, and functional platform—one that is ready to securely support FEMUSC’s growth for years to come.”
SCAR Executive Director Edilma Lemanhê highlights that the new platform represents a significant step forward for the festival’s management and reinforces the institution’s commitment to innovation.
“FEMUSC has grown tremendously over more than two decades, and this growth has brought new organizational and management challenges. Having a platform developed specifically for the festival’s unique needs is a crucial step toward ensuring greater efficiency, security, and agility across all processes. This tool strengthens the team’s work, improves the experience for students and faculty, and demonstrates that investing in technology is also an investment in the festival’s quality and future.”
One of the key benefits is the optimization of the organization’s workflow. Processes that previously required a high volume of communication are now automated, significantly reducing the time spent by the staff and making festival management more efficient.
FEMUSC’s Artistic Programming Coordinator, Haline David, emphasizes that the new platform represents a major advancement for the festival’s entire operation.
“The system is highly functional, and I believe we will see significant progress compared to previous editions. It features a completely redesigned interface and integrates tools that will greatly simplify daily tasks for both the team and the participants. Previously, resolving a student’s scheduling issue, for example, took about 30 minutes. Now, that process will be much faster, offering greater convenience and streamlining the work of everyone involved.”
Bárbara Wohlgemuth, of Adapcon, led the platform’s development in close collaboration with the FEMUSC team. Over the past few months, meetings and validation stages were held to ensure the system met the specific needs of the festival’s operations, which involve hundreds of students, faculty members, and staff from various countries. As a contribution to the festival, Adapcon developed and donated the platform to FEMUSC, reinforcing its commitment to social impact initiatives.
For Gustavo Baehr, CEO of Adapcon, the partnership also represented an opportunity to use technology as a tool for social transformation.
“Adapcon is a company that has always believed technology can generate a positive impact. Every year, we seek to contribute to projects that make a difference in the community; when we learned about FEMUSC, we realized we could put our expertise at the service of an initiative that transforms lives through music. We developed this system by listening closely to the entire team, understanding the challenges faced by each area, and building a platform designed to streamline the work of the organizers while offering a far better experience for the participants.”
In addition to streamlining organizational routines, the platform will offer participants a more intuitive experience by consolidating information—such as activity schedules, repertoire, announcements, and other essential features—into a single environment.
The result of a partnership between FEMUSC and Adapcon, the new system reinforces the festival’s commitment to innovation, making its management even more efficient and capable of keeping pace with the growth of an event that annually brings together hundreds of musicians from various countries.
