Conducting Classes – Teaching
Instrumental classes form the highest priority of FEMUSC’s Pedagogical Curriculum. Participants must bring arias, studies, and musical works at a high performance level and present them to masters of renown, experience, and knowledge. Scheduled between Monday and Friday, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
Classes are conducted in groups where each participant performs for professors in front of the entire class, which may be modified according to the preference of the professors.
Symphonic Groups – Practical Experience with Large Groups
Large musical ensembles are a microcosm of society, representing collectivity, respect, teamwork, and mutual support. Participants will be selected according to their applications and recordings, and invited to conduct the following ensembles under the supervision of professors:
Ricardo Feldens Academic Orchestra
Adélia Fischer Academic Orchestra
In addition to the Academic Orchestras, participants may observe professors working with the following symphonic groups:
OSF – FEMUSC Symphony Orchestra
OPF – FEMUSC Professors Orchestra
OOF – FEMUSC Opera Orchestra
OSNI – Unidentified Symphony Orchestra
BSF – FEMUSC Symphonic Band
Cameratas – Practical Individual Experience with Chamber Orchestras
Participants will be assigned to conduct chamber orchestras (Cameratas) consisting of between 10 and 25 musicians. Rehearsals may be supervised by professors, but leadership will be in the hands of the participants of this Program.
