Classes – Teaching
Classes form the highest priority of FEMUSC’s Pedagogical Curriculum. Participants must bring studies and musical works at a high performance level and present them to masters of renown, experience, and knowledge. Scheduled between Monday and Friday, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
Classes are conducted in groups where each participant performs for professors in front of the entire class, which may be modified according to the preference of the professors. All lyric singing classes are accompanied by professional vocal coaches (collaborative pianists).
Solos – Individual Presentations
Participants are invited to submit up to three works of their choice, such as arias, songs, lieder, and works with or without piano accompaniment.
FEMUSC accepts traditional suggestions and works from all periods of concert music, and also encourages participants to include works representing their cultures and/or underrepresented creators.
The Coordination will select works to be included in the official programming of the event. There are no guarantees that the works submitted by participants will be selected for concerts.
Chamber Music – Small Group Presentations
Chamber Music is the cellula mater of musical art. The required interaction and the flexibility imposed by this musical modality empower musicians and elevate their artistic performance. Participants are invited to submit up to three works of their choice for groups of between 2 and 10 musicians.
On some occasions, works may be accompanied by a chamber orchestra.
“Opera Night” – Arias and Songs with Symphonic Accompaniment
Selected singers are invited to present works of their choice in front of a symphony orchestra. The selection process for this presentation takes place in October.
Symphonic Groups – Large Group Presentations
Large musical ensembles are a microcosm of society, representing collectivity, respect, teamwork, and mutual support. Participants will be selected according to their applications and recordings, and invited to participate in the following ensembles:
FEMUSC Lyric Choir
FEMUSC Chamber Choir
Concert Series
Solo arias and songs (with piano) and chamber music will be primarily scheduled for the Lyric Singing Recitals Series, with 13 presentations dedicated exclusively to the vocal repertoire.
Opera
Opera is the most complex event offered by FEMUSC, requiring intense dedication, professionalism, flexibility, and patience from individuals across various artistic modalities. There are one or two performances during the event. Soloists and roles are selected in September and must memorize their arias and parts.
If the FEMUSC Lyric Choir is involved, they must also memorize their parts according to the requirements of the score.
