FEMUSC Concert honors Maestro Brusquense Edino Krieger

The night of this Wednesday, the 25th, at the Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc), was marked by an important tribute to the legacy of one of the biggest names in Santa Catarina music, and also Brazilian. The show of the series Grandes Concertos honored the late composer and conductor Edino Krieger recently.

Born in Brusque, Krieger was one of the creators of the Contemporary Music Biennials and the National Symphony Orchestra. During the concert, four of his works were presented: “Sonatina for piano”; “Song of the Violeiro”; “Brasiliana, for viola and strings”; and “Serenade to Five”.

The conductor and creator of Femusc, Alex Klein, highlighted his relevance in the erudite scenario. “He was the greatest composer of classical music in Santa Catarina and in Rio de Janeiro he connected composers and musicians. For us, it is a huge loss,” he said.

The composer’s family came from Brusque to accompany the presentation. Carmelo Krieger, brother of the composer, on behalf of the other family members, thanked him for his recognition. “This tribute brings us a lot of joy. We appreciate the affection of making Edino live through his musical work”, he concluded.
