FEMUSC em pauta

Second night of Femusc shows is marked by compositions by great names in classical music

The second night of FEMUSC (Santa Catarina International Music Festival), the largest school festival in Latin America, was marked by the celebration of classical music.

This Monday, the 9th, the series Grandes Concertos brought to the stage of the Grand Theater of Scar, works by Antonio Bertali, known for his compositions that follow the style of musicians from northern Italy, Henry Purcell, one of the most important composers in England and Johann. Sebastian Bach, considered the “father of music”.

In the show, the public can appreciate parts of the composition of “Sonata A 3”, by Bertali, “Three Parts of a Base”, by Purcell, in addition to “Sonata n° 1”, “Sonata II, in L minor, BWV 1003: III. Andante and IV. Allegro” and “Suite 2 – Alamande and Courrant”, by Bach. The works were presented by teachers and students, with instruments such as Baroque cello, Baroque violin and harpsichord.

This Tuesday, the 10th, the event reserves even more emotions. Starting at 7 pm, recitals of lyrical singing take place, and the series Momento Springmann, in the small theater. Starting at 8:30 pm, at the Grande Teatro, the public will be able to honor, in the Grande Concertos series, the beautiful compositions by Antonio Vivaldi, Biagio Marini and also, Johann Sebastian Bach.

Programming

Until the 28th, Jaraguá do Sul breathes music and celebrates diversity. FEMUSC receives around 900 musicians from 27 countries and 17 Brazilian states. 65,000 tickets will be distributed, and an audience of 50,000 people will be distributed on online broadcasts.

In the 18th edition, which should be the biggest in the history of the festival, the organizers prepared a program that promotes the meeting of the classic style with the popular. One of the most awaited moments is the traditional “concert of nations”, in which musicians of different nationalities take the stage praising their own culture. The presentation of the FEMUSC Symphony Orchestra is also planned, in addition to three operas, set up exclusively for the festival. Another novelty, this year, is the Brazilian popular music shows and the confirmed presence of the instrumentalist Renato Borghetti.

In parallel, FEMUSC promotes music education and expands access to culture. Classes, workshops and concerts are offered in various public places and entities, such as shopping, nursing homes and hospitals.

In total, there will be approximately 200 presentations, all free of charge, upon advance collection of tickets, which are always distributed 48 hours before each concert.

The main shows are broadcast live, in high definition, by the festival’s Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/institutofemusc.
