Femusc 2025 singing students win opportunities and scholarships in Europe

Bulgarian teacher Guenko Guechev, who participated for the first time in the festival, will grant scholarships to lyrical singing students to participate in opera programs in Italy and Bulgaria

Lyrical singing teacher Guenko Guechev announced during the 20th edition of Femusc, in Jaraguá do Sul, that he will grant scholarships to young singers from Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, who participated in the festival this year. Those selected will have the chance to study in prestigious opera programs in Europe, including the Bologna International Opera Academy (BIOA) and the Sofia Opera Performing Seminars (SOPS), a summer conference dedicated to classical music.

These scholarships cover tuition fees and other costs involved in the programs, which include intensive vocal training, concert performances and festivals in Europe. Selected students will have the chance to study with renowned music professionals, expanding their career opportunities in the European market.

“This is a unique opportunity for these young people. When they go to Europe, they not only learn, but also gain visibility. My goal is to build a bridge between Femusc and European professional markets, connecting emerging talents to great opportunities,” explained the Bulgarian professor.

During his participation in the festival, Professor  Guenko Guechev said that not only did he work technical aspects and repertoire with the students, but also guided on how to perform in auditions and build a career in the world of opera.

He added that he intends to expand the connection between Brazil and Europe also in the next editions of the festival. “I hope to be able to strengthen this partnership, bringing more professionals to FEMUSC and offering our students the chance to present themselves in the largest opera market in the world”, said Professor Guechev.

Guenko Guechev made a special participation in the lyrical singing course, which completed 10 years of activities at FEMUSC in 2025. The program, recognized for its structure and technical level of quality, is responsible for opera productions that consolidate the festival as a reference.
