Songs from different origins and periods make up the highlights of the Santa Catarina International Music Festival, which takes place in Jaraguá do Sul (SC) until Saturday (25)
This Wednesday (22), the 20th Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc) features a special program with unpublished works by composers, suggested by the students themselves of this edition, in addition to a selection of Hispanic songs and classic and contemporary pieces. The festival takes place in Jaraguá do Sul (SC) until Saturday (25).
The Lieder II concert, from the lyrical singing series, features two composers nominated by students: the Belgian Eva dell’acqua, with the play Villanelle, and the French Cécile Chaminade, with Mignonne. The works will be performed by singer Tânia Moura Gomez, accompanied by pianist Ednaldo Borba, and by Yemina Mercedes Cazal Ramírez, with pianist Viviane Godoy.
Before, at 18:00, The Guitar Plus series brings a repertoire dedicated to Hispanic music, with pieces by Mexican composers Manuel Maria Ponce, the Chilean Juan Antonio Sánchez, and the Spanish Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla – icons of musical nationalism Spanish.
The Piano Masters series highlights the work of Australian composer Ross Edwards, known for mixing traditional and modern influences. The play will be performed by pianist Alex Zhang. The program also includes works by Beethoven and Debussy.
In the industrial series Wander Weege , the repertoire is focused on pieces for harp and guitar, including the prelude to Bach’s Suite #2. In addition, the public will be able to appreciate compositions by the French Alphonse Hasselmans and the Peruvian Roberto Carpio.
The Momento Springmann series and Grandes Concertos feature compositions from the German Romanticism and Johannes Brahms symphonies at 7:00 pm and 8:30 pm, with live broadcast on the YouTube channel (youtube.com/femcoficial).
All presentations take place at SCAR – Cultural Center, the main stage of FEMUSC 2025.
