The Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc), considered the largest school festival of classical music in Latin America, is open for its 20th edition, which will take place from January 12 to 25, 2025. have until September 1st to guarantee their participation. FEMUSC offers a unique opportunity for musicians of all ages and skill levels. This year’s edition will be attended by more than 50 teachers from ten nationalities, including big names such as Maestrina Ligia Amadio, popular singing teacher Ligia Nestrovsky, and violin teacher Lucia Luque Coorreman. The program also includes the return of the Brazilian Popular Music Workshops (MPB), coordinated by the renowned pianist and conductor Marcelo Ghelfi.
For the 2025 edition, 340 places are available in several areas:
• 244 vacancies for intermediate and advanced orchestral instrument workshops, such as violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet and others.
• 32 vacancies for lyrical singing workshops in different categories.
• 40 vacancies for MPB instrument workshops, including piano, drums, and guitar/guitar.
• 20 vacancies for rope quartets workshops, forming 05 quartets.
Interested parties should send a recording of five to ten minutes, with a repertoire of free choice, and a movement from a work by Bach to candidates of stringed instruments. Recordings must be made available via the link, preferably on Youtube, and accompanied by personal data and a resume.
In addition to the regular vacancies, FEMUSC 2025 will offer 80 places for Femusckinho (initiation to musicalization for children from 6 to 12 years old) and 80 places for Femusc Jovem (instrumental classes for young people aged 12 to 12 years). 17 years old). Femusc Jaraguá is also available for local musicians and amateurs aged 17 or over, which offers opportunities in a non-professional environment. For these courses, registration takes place in November.
