Sponsor Femusc guarantees income tax deduction

Santa Catarina International Music Festival reaches its 20th edition with a record registration of 1,500 students; The event is considered the biggest school festival in Latin America

For those who like good music and think about contributing to the formation of new talents,  The Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc), promoted by the Culture Incentive Law, accepts donations from individuals and legal entities. Considered the largest school festival in Latin America,  FEMUSC arrives in 2025 at the 20th edition with a milestone in the number of interested parties. There were more than 1,500 students from 32 countries.  The event takes place from January 12th to 25th in Jaraguá do Sul (SC) and will bring together more than 200 shows,  all free. 

According to conductor Alex Klein,  founder and artistic director of FEMUSC,  Donations strengthen the event. “The resources are mainly intended so that the participants can have free classes, food, and for the hiring of foreign and Brazilian musicians with an established career”, he explains. FEMUSC is an immersive course in classical music and MPB and brings together teachers and students from around the world for daily classes during the day and evening performances. 

In 2025, in addition to concerts and MPB shows, FEMUSC will have  Back the rope quartet program, and the opera program will include the classic title  “Madame Butterfly” by Puccini and the opening of an opera by the Jaraguan composer Ático Rubini, among others. The shows take place on the stages of Scar, the city’s main cultural center, but also fulfill a social itinerary in schools, hospitals and penitentiaries. 

Donation/Sponsorship

Donations can be made by individuals or legal entities.  For legal entities, the sponsorship can be up to 4% of the income tax due for companies that tax the real profit.  Individuals who make the full income tax return can donate up to a limit of 6%. There is no minimum value.  Companies taxed by Simples Nacional or the presumed profit cannot make this type of donation.

SCAR, duly regulated for receiving donations and sponsorships from FEMUSC, will forward the receipt to the taxpayer so that he can use the income tax return.
