Biografia

Laura Ruiz Ferreres has been a clarinet teacher at Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main since 2011. Previously, she was the first solo clarinetist at Komische Oper in Berlin. Led by Kirill Petrenko, and from 2007 to 2010 she was a guest teacher at A UDK – Universität der Künste Berlin, where she also taught in her own class.
She is an artistic co-founder and co-founder of the Deltachamber Music Festival, an international chamber music festival that takes place every August in Amposta (Spain). Laura Ruiz Ferreres released several CDs as a soloist and camerist, the last one with the Sony Classical (2018) label: The J. S. Bach Goldberg for Septet.

She is one of the few that touches and teaches the French and German clarinet systems. She has won awards in many international competitions and makes frequent appearances as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra musician. He was born in Amposta (Tarragona) and began his musical studies with his father, later studying in Barcelona, London, Basel and Berlin. She also studied historic clarinet at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.

Having been part of the best European youth orchestras, he became a member of the Staatskapelle Berlin Academy and also of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.

She has won several awards in different European competitions, such as the London Symphony Shell Woodwind Competition and Tunbridge Wells International Young Artists Competition (UK), International Clarinet Competition Marco Fiorindo (Italy), First prize at the Concours DExecution Musical de Riddes (Switzerland), first prize at the Palau 2003 Primer, in addition to being the only one awarded in the 2004 Ciudad de dos Hermanas International Clarinet Competition (Spain).

His work as a soloist includes presentations with various orchestras such as Sinfonietta de Genève, Komische Oper Berlin, Brandenburger Symphoniker, Philharmonisches Orchester Der Stadt Heidelberg, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, Granollers Cambra Orchestra, Simfónica Del Vallès Orchestra, Simfónica de Barcelona I National Catalunya Orchestra, Jove National Orchestra of Catalunya, Orchestra Sinfonica Di Milano Giuseppe Verdi and Collegium Musicum Aschaffenburg, and also recorded for Suisse Romande Radio 2, Deutschlandradio Kultur, Catalunya Music, Radio Nacional de España and SWR Rundfunk.

Laura Ruiz Ferreres regularly collaborates as a Solo Clarinetist, with Staatskapelle Dresden, Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Deutsches Symphonie-Ochester Berlin, Staatskapelle Berlin, Hamburger Philharmoniker, Cadaqués Orchestra, Orchestra del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Gürzenich Orchester Köln and Chamber Orchestra Mahler. He has played with renowned conductors such as Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Teodor Currentzis, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Bernhard Haitink, Sir Neville Marriner, Kent Nagano, Sir Colin Davis, Christoph Eschenbach, Paavo Järvi, Daniele Gatti and Pierre Boulez, among others.
