FEMUSC em pauta

FEMUSC social concerts bring tranquility and welcoming music to hospitals, and other parts of the city

Music is transformative. She has the power to change the life of those who play her and also the public that appreciates her. And, his legacy does not need to be restricted to the stage of a theater. Therefore, with the aim of spreading music in different parts of the city, FEMUSC (Santa Catarina International Music Festival) has a series of social concerts. These are shows that take place in hospitals, entities and even in shopping centers.

This Tuesday, 17th, FEMUSC musicians performed in the two hospitals in the city. In the morning, patients, visitors and employees of Hospital São José were surprised by the concerts. And, during the afternoon, it was the turn of the Femusc’s climate to be experienced by the corridors of the Jaraguá Hospital.

“It was very beautiful. It broke the atmosphere of tension and anxiety we are experiencing. The music relaxes and transports us to other places,” said Sabrina Pinheiro de Quevedo, mother of little Luiza Pinheiro de Quevedo, who is hospitalized in the unit, recovering after ear surgery.

In addition to thrilling the public, the initiative has the important function of strengthening the sense of volunteering among students. “I chose the song Aleluia, which brings a message of faith and hope. That was the message I wanted to convey”, reports the soprano Natalia Pascke, from Curitiba, who participates for the first time in Femusc.

The social concerts still take place this week, in churches, Lar das Flores, in gas stations in Rede MIME and at the city’s mall.
