Recognized as the largest school festival in Latin America, FEMUSC takes place from January 12th to 25th in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina.
The Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc) has just announced the opening of 190 places for children and young people interested in participating in the programming music classes. 80 places were reserved for Femusckinho, 80 for Femusc Jovem and 30 places for Femusc Jaraguá. Considered the largest school festival in Latin America, the event takes place from January 12th to 25th, in Jaraguá do Sul, northeast of the state of Santa Catarina. Registration is now open and interested parties must register through the website www.femusc.com.br
The Femusckinho, Femusc Jovem and Femusc Jaraguá are offered to residents of Jaraguá do Sul and region. The three programs are dedicated to “non-professional” musical teaching, that is, they are not aimed at promoting and supporting future professional musicians, as is the case in other FEMUSC programs.

For children from 6 to 12 years old, Femusckinho offers an intense program of classes and workshops to stimulate musical learning and creativity. During the program, the children are introduced to instruments such as recorder, violin, viola, cello and double bass, in addition to choral singing, musicalization and body percussion.
Participants are divided into two groups. Minors, aged 6 to 8, learn recorder and musicalization. Those aged 9 to 12 can choose one of the stringed instruments. All classes participate in choral singing workshops.
Femusc Jovem, open to interested parties from 12 to 17 years old, offers classes of orchestral instruments and body percussion. in this programming, The Femusc Jovem Philharmonic Orchestra is incorporated, a youth symphony orchestra that brings together the most promising musical talents in the region..
o Femusc Jaraguá serves young people who, even having opted for a non-musical career, are interested in the classes offered by the event. From the age of 17, interested parties can apply for this activity that involves instrumental classes and participation in the symphonic works of the academic orchestras “Ricardo Feldens” and “Adélia Fischer” of Femusc.
“The objective with Femusc Jaraguá is to value the amateur musicians of the city, who like to play their instruments, want to learn to play them better and participate in orchestras”, explains conductor Alex Klein, creator of the festival.

FEMUSC: 20 years
From the 12th to the 25th of January, FEMUSC transforms Jaraguá into the most important cultural center of the Brazilian South Pole. Beginner and professional musicians from 20 nationalities will be circulating and performing freely around the city. the event, which celebrates its 20th edition, It offers a unique experience with daily shows of classical music and MPB, in addition to operatic performances and many solos from international exponents. The expectation is that for this edition, FEMUSC will reach more de 200 presentations.
The Jaraguá do Sul of Femusc brings fourteen days of pure musicality. “The public makes a real journey through time from the classics of old music, classical music and the Brazilian popular”, says Alex Klein. “No one leaves the FEMUSC in the same way, it is a watershed, fundamental for the training of musicians and for the cultural formation of audiences of all ages”.
