FEMUSC gala night has musical work by Dom Pedro, children’s performance and MPB show

The gala night promoted by the FEMUSC International Festival this Thursday, 27/01, had among the highlights the presentation of the musical work “Abertura para a Independência do Brasil”, composed by Dom Pedro Primeiro in 1820.
The concert, in honor of the bicentennial of Independence, was played with replicas of old instruments so that the public knew the same sound as the composition time. An excerpt from Mozart’s “As Bodas de Figaro”, was also played to highlight the presentation this Friday, of the Femusc Opera.
The show also had music by Femusckinho, the festival’s summer camp for children between 6 and 12 years old. The 80 students of this edition showed the public presentations with flute, triangle and singing.
The gala night ended with an MPB show presented by the teachers of the Brazilian Popular Music Course Marcelo Ghelfi, Chico Macedo, Dino Barione, Edu Ribeiro and Marinho Andreotti.
Before the show, FEMUSC promoted a cocktail party for the sponsors and supporters of the festival and the opera “The Wedding of Figaro”: Weg, Zanotti, APM Terminals, Komprão Koch Atacadista, Britânia Philco, Duas Rodas, Monitor, Urban, Grupo Menegotti, Bastos Wackerhagen Berns & Advogados Associados, NSC Comunicação, Centro Cultural Scar, OCP Communication Network, Catholic University of Santa Catarina, Gumz Accounting and Fleming Laboratory.
The event is held by the FEMUSC Institute with the Ministry of Tourism, the Special Secretariat for Culture, the Culture Incentive Law, the Fortaleza de São João Association and the Jaraguá do Sul City Hall.

MPB and Chamber Recitals

Femusc’s MPB show started with the singing of student Di Ribeiro, who returned to her origins on Thursday night (27). Di, who started singing in classical music choirs, opened the Brazilian music show with the interpretation of classical music. Accompanied by Diana’s harp and Adriel Verçosa’s saxophone, both MPB students, Di Ribeiro presented Acalanto da Rosa, composed by Cláudio Santoro and lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes.
The chorinho “Crying Baixinho” by Abel Ferreira continued the show that also featured songs by Douglas Germano, Francisco El Hombre, among others.
In chamber recitals, Femusc’s old music students presented works by the composers Johann Dismas Zelenka, Antonio Caldara, Alain Barrière and Francesco Geminiani.
The last performance of MPB and old music students takes place this Friday (28), at 6:30 pm and 7 pm at Scar.
