The event starts this weekend in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, and runs until January 25th. All shows are free
The 20th edition of FEMUSC – Santa Catarina International Music Festival will start next Sunday, January 12, with more than 200 free presentations and a renewed structure. The event will take place until the 25th at the Scar Cultural Center, in Jaraguá do Sul, and in various parts of the city.
This year’s edition marks a new moment, now under the leadership of Monika Hufenüssler Conrads, in partnership with SCAR, under the executive board of Edilma Lemanhê. The 2025 management arrives with novelties, and reinforces the solid foundations implemented throughout the festival’s previous editions.
“The new FEMUSC board brings with it a renewal of the brand, the conquest of new sponsors and an update in the structure, but maintains its commitment to the credibility and excellence that made the festival a point of reference in the international music scene”, highlights Monika Conrads.
One of the novelties of this edition is the visual identity created by the plastic artist Luciano Martins. The logo features a stylized, hand-drawn Beethoven with a pop touch and a vibrant yellow light, symbolizing the genius and indomitable spirit of the German composer. The combination of black and yellow translates the formality, sophistication and energy that the festival seeks to convey, dialoguing with a new generation without losing sight of tradition.
Luciano Martins connects his art to social inclusion, aligning himself with Femusc’s mission to reveal talents often hidden by the lack of opportunities. “Femusc is a beacon of hope and inspiration, guiding young musicians on their journey to the stage”, highlights Luciano.
For conductor Alex Klein, creator and artistic director of the festival, the partnership with Luciano Martins reaffirms Femusc’s commitment to the promotion of talents and social inclusion: “Luciano’s bond with social projects is in full harmony with the values of our festival.”
Through the Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law), Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, FEMUSC is sponsored by the companies WEG, Rede Itaú, Grupo Elian, BTG Pactual, Duas Rodas, Martinelli Advogados and Zanotti, and the support of the companies Agricopel, Auto Elite, Urbano Alimentos, WPA, UniSociesc and IFSC Santa Catarina – Campus Jaraguá do Sul – Centro – Santa Catarina.
FEMUSC is organized by SCAR – Cultural Center, Instituto Femusc and Jaraguá do Sul City Hall.
