Event starts this weekend in Jaraguá do Sul and runs until January 25th. All shows are free
o FEMUSC – Santa Catarina International Music Festival – It celebrates, in 2025, the 20th edition of its history, consolidated by its pedagogical excellence and cultural impact and attracting musicians from all over the world to a unique immersive experience. The event starts on the 12th, in Jaraguá do Sul, Santa Catarina, and goes to January 25th. All shows are free.

• Participating Students: The 20th edition will have 350 selected students from 27 countries. This year more than 1,700 entries of musicians were registered, a record since the first edition of the event, in 2006.
• Outstanding faculty: there are more than 50 teachers from 10 nationalities covering different styles, from classical to popular music, in addition to opera, chamber music and orchestral practice.
• Volume of presentations: Femusc In this edition, it will offer more than 200 free presentations and 750 works during the 14 days of the event. These performances include major concerts and also pocket shows in various parts of the city of Santa Catarina.
20th anniversary special schedule
To celebrate two decades of history, FEMUSC 2025 will tell, for example, In classical music, with the grandeur of the opera featuring Madama Butterfly, by Giacomo Puccini, one of the masterpieces of the operatic repertoire.
I-JUCA-PIRAMA is an opera by the composer of Jaragua Ático Rubini inspired by the homonymous poems by the Indianist poet Gonçalves Dias. The opening of this opera will be presented for the first time in Jaraguá do Sul, during this edition.
Femusc will still have tribute to the 80th anniversary of Elis Regina, one of the greatest Brazilian interpreters.
cultural and social impact
FEMUSC goes beyond musical training, becoming an agent of social transformation. Many of his former students reached positions in renowned orchestras. This year, for example, Femusc He has already forwarded the young Brazilians Jaimes de Odilia, bassist from Florianópolis, and Ramon Diego, a trumpeter from Fortaleza, to perform, in August, with the International Symphony Orchestra  of the BRICS in Moscow, under the direction of the conductor and violist Yuri Bashmet.
