“Amoroso” will open this Monday (16) the “Industrial Wandér Weege”, New series of concerts at Femusc
Conductor Alex Klein launches this Monday (16) “Amoroso”, an album in partnership with Harper Rita Costanzi, and which celebrates the generosity of partners at FEMUSC (Santa Catarina International Music Festival) held 18 years ago in Jaraguá do Sul. The launch was also scheduled to premiere the new series of concerts at the festival, called “Industrial Wandér Weege”, which will be part of the event daily at 7 pm in the Cine Scar room, at Centro Cultural Scar.
“We want to celebrate Wandér Weege and, in his name, all the generosity of the supporters of FEMUSC, who is of age this year and is established year by year as the biggest and most complete festival-school in Latin America”, says Klein. Wandér Weege, owner of Malwee in Jaraguá do Sul, is famous for his philanthropy and support for culture in the region.
“Amoroso” was recorded in June last year and consists of new compositions, French music and maestro’s arrangements. Alex Klein and Rita Costanzi, internationally recognized for the virtuosity on the harp, will be together for the launch of the work. Michael Cohen, Claude Debussy, Astor Piazzolla, Gabriel Fauré and Manuel de Falla are some of the composers who are part of “Amoroso”, released by Parma Records.

Wandér Weege was the donor of the 17 harps that made Jaraguá do Sul the city with the highest concentration of this instrument in Latin America; Of the 20 Clavinovas, of the 20 double basses, a set of eardrums and a set of ORF instruments and the full-tailed Steinway piano (considered the best in the world). Donations also include a Yamaha ¾ grand piano, light table, projector and reflectors. All these instruments and equipment are now part of the SCAR collection. The industrialist is also known for his generosity with artists from the region and for having been responsible for the resources that made it possible to build the structural columns of the theater.
About Rita Costanzi
Rita Costanzi is internationally recognized for her virtuosity as a harper and actress. Previously the main harp of Vancouver Symphony and CBC Radio Orchestra, she now dedicates her life to solo and teaching music performances.
Costanzi’s teaching career includes master classes at the main conservatories together with his solo performances in North and South America, as well as at New York University, where he taught for three years.
Since moving to New York in 2007, Costanzi has collaborated with the director, Arthur Masella, at an award-winning show by a woman who was presented at The United Solo Theater Festival in New York, at the Ottawa International Festival and at The World. Harp Congress, in Sydney. He is currently working on creating a new play “Woman on a Ledge” with writer/producer Hershey Felder.
Recently, he recorded Michael Kurek’s Serenade for cello and harp at Parma Records and was a performer and featured teacher at The Fifth International Harp Academy (ISHA) in Bulgaria.
