Santa Catarina International Music Festival reaches its 20th edition with opportunities for musicians of all levels. 5 days left until the end of registration
The Santa Catarina International Music Festival (Femusc), the largest classical music school festival in Latin America, is open for the 20th edition. Beginner and professional musicians have until next Sunday, September 1st, to sign up. Registration and all information are available on the official website: www.femusc.com.br. The event will be held in Jaraguá do Sul (SC), from January 12 to 25, 2025.
Registration for the 2025 edition of FEMUSC ends next Sunday, September 1st.
FEMUSC 2025 will count with more than 50 teachers from more than 10 nationalities, including renowned names such as the conductor Ligia Amadio, the popular singing teacher Lívia Nestrovski, and the voice and opera teacher Guenko Guechev. The MPB programming will be coordinated by the pianist, conductor and arranger Marcelo Ghelfi.
For this edition, the festival offers a total of 340 places in several workshops:
• 244 vacancies in intermediate and advanced orchestral instruments, such as violin, viola, cello, and more.
• 32 vacancies in lyrical singing, distributed between soprano, mezzosoprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass.
• 40 places in Brazilian popular music instruments, including piano, drums, winds, guitar/guitar, bass, singing and accordion.
• 20 spaces for rope quartets, forming 5 quartets.
Interested parties should send a recording of five to ten minutes, with a repertoire of free choice, and for string instruments, to include a movement of Bach’s work. The registration must be done with a link to the recording, personal data and a summary resume.
In addition, Femusc 2025 will offer 80 places for Femusckinho (for children from 6 to 12 years old) and 80 places for Femusc Jovem (for teenagers aged 12 to 17). Femusc Jaraguá, aimed at local musicians and amateurs from 17 years old, will also be available for those looking for a non-professional experience. Registration for these courses takes place in November.
